Baresso Coffee Meter Yacht Cup 2010

KDY (Royal Danish Yacht Club) and The Copenhagen Station of ITMA (International Twelve Metre Association) is continuing the success of last years classic meter yacht cup, in corporation with Baresso Coffee, in Copenhagen. The event will take place from September 2nd to 5th 2010, with base in Tuborg Harbour (KDY)

Rolex Baltic Week 2010

The Kieler Yacht-Club (KYC) organized the seventh annual Rolex Baltic Week (30 June to 4 July 2010), where the traditional Metre classes (6mR, 8mR and 12mR) were invited for the Sterling Cup and the 8-Metre Euro Cup. Here is some great shots from the regatta

Øresunds-bridge 10th anniversary (BroRacet 2010)

Thea and Vanity took part in celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Øresunds region and the bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö. 6 boats (2 x RC 44, 2 x Farr40 & 2 x 12mR Thea & Vanity) were invited to Malmö in the beginning of June, for a drag race from Malmö, through the bridge to Copenhagen.

The Baresso Cup was a rememboral event with some great moments of extremely close racing and victory to Vanity in the end. Jill Christina Hansen was on the spot with her camera all weekend and has sent us these beautiful pictures.

Baresso Coffee Meter Yacht Cup

A press release for the upcoming meter yacht event is out. The event has been named "Baresso Coffe Meter Yacht Cup". This is hopefully the start of a great cooropeartion between Baresso Coffee, The Copenhagen Station of ITMA And Royal Danish Yacht Club (KDY), resulting in an great annual event for classic meter yachts in Tuborg Harbor.

Copenhagen Meter Yacht Cup 2009

The Copenhagen Station of ITMA (International 12 Metre Association), invites all classic mR yachts to the Copenhagen Meter Yacht Cup 2009, in co‐operation with the Royal Danish Yacht Club (KDY). The event will be based at KDY in Tuborg harbor and the races will be sailed on Oresund outside Tuborg Harbor.

The two old ladies are back in the pond

We are happy to announce that the 2009 12mR sailing season has started. Both Thea and Vanity are now back at their spot in Tuborg harbor (Copenhagen), rigged and ready to race.

Under the title "Vanity - Denmark's most beautiful sailing yacht", the danish website for sailing enthusiasts "minbaad.dk", presented this web-cast about Vanity V, including interview with Skipper Troels

New pictures from 12mR worlds

The Gallery has been updated with new pictures from the 12mR World Championship 2008, taken by Yacht Bild. Previously the gallery included some other pictures, taken from www.yachtbild.de, these have now been changed to the correct pictures without “YB” overlay, include a Top mark spinnaker set sequence and a tacking sequence of Vanity. We would like to thank Kai and Petra Greiser from Yacht Bild for supplying us with these pictures. Also pictures taken by the Thea crew member Jan Hinnerk Mahler, has been added to the gallery.

Drama at Risør trebådsfestival

Seven 12mR’s including Thea & Vanity V had found their way to the Wooden Boat Festival, held last weekend in Risør Norway. The event turned out to be a bit of a drama, as the website www.seilas.no puts it in their report from the event.

2008 World Championship goes to Nyala

Congratulation to the Nyala and her Italian crew, with their new title as world champions of the classic division. Also a big thanks to Flensburger Segel-Club and Robbe & Berking for a great event and a fantastic week.

Kiel Week

Vanity V has arrived safely in Kiel, where it is taken part in the annual Kiel Week together with other 12mr like Sphinx, Trivia, Evaine & Magic.
Kiel Week (Kieler Woche) is the largest sailing event in the world and it stretches all the way back to 1882.

Congratulation Sphinx
The beautifully restored 1939 Abeking & Rasmussen 12mR, formerly known as “Ostwind”, was relaunshed yesterday (Sunday 1^st 2008) at the Flensburger Segel-Club under her original name Sphinx.

12mR World Championship 2008
